Despite this entire John Galliano controversy, you have to admit that the new Miss Dior Cherie commercial featuring Natalie Portman is tres chic! I remember the very first Miss Dior Cherie perfume commercial debuting in 2008 featuring the model Myrna Linchuk dancing around to Brigitte Bardot's "Moi, Je Joue." It was so feminine and playful [the song title in French literally means, Me, I play] it made me want to leave everything behind in Florida and move to Paris! But then again, I'm always thinking about moving to France.
The genius behind both of these commercials is the American director and model Sofia Coppola. The recent Miss Dior Cherie commercial Natalie Portman is more sexy and sensual compared to the first. It features Natalie in an unzipped black Dior dress and fooling around and kissing [oh la la!] a very attractive French hottie, while Myrna was seen all over Paris in colorful Dior dresses shopping for French treats [mmmm.. macarons] and flowers, riding a bike, trying on Dior sunglasses, playing in swings, and being surrounded and lifted away by colorful balloons. The floor length pinkish-plum colored Dior dress that Myrna Linchuk was wearing in the commercial was actually worn by Cameron Diaz to the 2007 Costume Institute Gala in New York City thanks to Cameron's stylist, Rachel Zoe, of course.
But the point of the matter is that these commercials perfectly describe the scents of these fragrances. I actually wear the Miss Dior Cherie L'eau [the lighter perfume in color and in smell] and the floral scent has a fun and sexy smell to it. I'm obsessed with these commercials as I am about the fragrance. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do!
Love, KB
