Magazine Covergirl: Allure -- Lauren Conrad (May 2011)

sweater by Donna Karan New York

So if you follow up on daily Fashion Blog posts, then it should be no news to you that Lauren Conrad, along with Allure Magazine, her make up artist, Amy Nadine and hairstylist, Kristin Ess, launched thebeautydepartment.com, which is a site that will offer beauty tips like "How to do the hottest runway tricks. How to wear purple eyeliner. How to do beach curls," according to Conrad. The site which officially launched on April 19 is absolutely fabulous and even featured its first video how-to tutorial featuring Lauren Conrad herself, demonstrating how to do her famous cat-eye/winged liner that she is so famously known for. In this May 2011 of Allure, she also told the magazine that "the idea is to eventually roll out a cosmetics and hair line." [Can't wait!] But Lauren didn't just talk about future plans about expanding her ever growing empire. She also talked about the present, her current beau Kyle Howard and her new contemporary fashion line Paper Crown, and the past which was coincidentally documented throughout all of those years on The Hills -- you know, ex-boyfriends, frienemies and all of that implies. It was only a matter of time until she was finally on the cover of Conde' Nast's beauty publication. She was part of the famous publishing company after all, when she was an intern for Teen Vogue! So come check out some of the photos from the Allure May 2011 cover shoot along with some behind the scenes photos! And don't forget to check out thebeautydepartment.com

Lauren Conrad was the first Allure cover for the iPad app!
