Patricia Field Creations: Confessions of a Shopaholic

I first read Sophie Kinsella's book Confessions of a Shopaholic before I watched the movie it's based on, starring Isla Fisher. As with all book-turned-movie franchises there are bound to be inconsistencies with the plot and characters. For instance, the setting of this story is actually in  London as opposed to New York City and the guy that Fisher's roommate is dating in the movie is actually her cousin the book. All incest and mismatched details aside, the fashion did do the book justice. This is a story about fashion and shopping after all! Patricia Field did an incredible job mixing textures, colors, patterns and prints for Isla Fisher's character Rebecca Bloomwood. What's more is that the accessories in this movie is more pronounced than ever with all the handbags, belts, shoes and jewelry. The wardrobe for each character does a really job in portraying their personality and background story without the movie goer having to go and read the book. From vintage to Gucci, to Zac Posen, Prada, and Christian Louboutin, to her green Denny and George scarf, this movie is a definite fashion-movie must see. Besides, inside every woman is a shopaholic in disguise. It's in our socialization! Just please don't go racking up credit card debt..
